Each EU member state has its own national rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it is worth noting that <strong>purchased periods are recorded in your career statement<\/strong> and are therefore recognized abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Retroactive Purchase of Insurance Periods in Luxembourg<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-eures-plugin-accordion-block\"><div class=\"accordion-top\"><p class=\"accordion-title\">Conditions<\/p><svg viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"accordion-top__icon\"><path d=\"M3 12L21 12M21 12L12.5 3.5M21 12L12.5 20.5\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke-linecap=\"round\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>To be able to retroactively purchase periods in Luxembourg, you must meet the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reside in a member country of the European Union (or EEA)<\/strong> at the time of submitting your request.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have <strong>at least 12 months of mandatory insurance<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not receive a personal pension<\/strong> in Luxembourg.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Be under 65 years of age<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-eures-plugin-accordion-block\"><div class=\"accordion-top\"><p class=\"accordion-title\"><strong>Eligible Periods<\/strong><\/p><svg viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"accordion-top__icon\"><path d=\"M3 12L21 12M21 12L12.5 3.5M21 12L12.5 20.5\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke-linecap=\"round\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>The following periods can be covered, provided they occur <strong>after the applicant reaches 18 years of age<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Marriage and partnership periods<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Periods of raising a minor child<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Periods of care provided in Luxembourg<\/strong> to a person recognized as dependent or severely disabled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Periods that gave rise to severance pay<\/strong> under the special transitional scheme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Periods of affiliation to a foreign pension scheme<\/strong> not covered by a bilateral or multilateral agreement, or to a pension scheme of an international organization for which reimbursement has been made.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-eures-plugin-accordion-block\"><div class=\"accordion-top\"><p class=\"accordion-title\"><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p><svg viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"accordion-top__icon\"><path d=\"M3 12L21 12M21 12L12.5 3.5M21 12L12.5 20.5\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke-linecap=\"round\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>You can find the <strong>application form in PDF<\/strong> here: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/guichet.public.lu\/dam-assets\/catalogue-formulaires\/retraite\/demande-rachat-retroactif-periode-assurance\/demande-rachat-retroactif-periode-assurance-fr.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demande-rachat-retroactif-periode-assurance-fr.pdf<\/a>.\u00a0This application must be sent to the competent institution corresponding to the <strong>last professional activity you performed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>amount of contributions to be paid<\/strong> is set by the institution.
